Zeon® LumenArc™ by Orascoptic Sybron Dental Specialties - Here is another great idea from the folks at Orascoptic. They have a new option in their Zeon fiberoptic headlights design. This time it comes in a smaller footprint. It takes up less space, but the Lumen Arc incorporates Solarc metal halide technology that gives you an even brighter and whiter light than a standard halogen system. This particular lighting system also will result in longer bulb life, saving you time and the hassle of changing bulbs. Built into the system is a filter you can activate when working with adhesives and composites so you can have great light, yet avoid premature curing of your composite materials. The Lumen Arc is an all-round better product. If you are looking for a new level of visualization, look no further. This is the one. Contact Orascoptic at (800) 369-3698 for more information or to have a representative call.

GC TION Tooth Whitening System by GC America

GC TiON™ Tooth Whitening Systems by GC America - Finally, a whitening formula that is light-activated. TiON In-Office has incorporated a titanium dioxide photo catalyst, which is activated by commercially available bleaching lights or dental curing lights. This light-activation of the photo catalyst maximizes the whitening effect of the hydrogen peroxide. The system is used in the office with the regular protocols of protecting the face and gingival tissues. Because of this whitening efficiency, TiON In-Office uses a lower concentration of hydrogen peroxide thereby lowering the patient’s sensitivity and increasing safety. TiON Take Home is an effective home whitening system developed to maintain natural tooth translucency. TiON Take Home System contains TiON Whitening Gel, MI Paste, patient tray container, and pouch. The Take Home System also contains TiON prophy paste and two sheets of special custom tray material for in-office tray fabrication. Patients are instructed to use TiON Take Home for 2 to 10 hours a day over a 7 to 10-day period. Patients can wear the tray all night long while sleeping. TiON Take Home Whitening Gel contains desensitizing potassium nitrate and sodium fluoride. With a pH of 6.4, patients receive effective whitening without tooth demineralization or sensitivity. COOK-WAITE ZORCAINE™ Articaine Hydrochloride 4% with Epinephrine 1:100,000 Injection by the Eastman Kodak Company - Most dentists are familiar with Articaine Hydrochloride as a local anesthetic, but now you have another choice. I don’t use any other anesthetic in my practice today except in cases of hypersensitivity to epinephrine. It is great to have an anesthetic that is this reliable. As the new Articaine, Cook-Waite Zorcaine offers the results you have come to expect. It can be used for simple as well as complex procedures, and it works well for patients who are difficult to anesthetize. I continue to be amazed at the results I get when using Zorcaine, even to the point of achieving anesthesia on a mandibular second molar with just infiltration into the gingival sulcus. It’s amazing. You now have another trusted name supplying dental anesthetics - Cook-Waite and Kodak. Order from your dealer or visit www.kodak.com/dental for more information.

NioDrys by Microscopy

NeoDrys™ by Microcopy - Want to control the saliva flow from the parotid gland quickly and easily? Then use the best control available - NeoDrys! They are color-coded for quick and easy identification - large is blue and small is yellow - and they are conveniently packaged in packs of 50 each. Simply select the size that adequately covers the buccal mucosa and insert it with the color side against the cheek. After a few seconds, NeoDrys will begin to adhere to the tissue and stay in place. The folks at Microcopy have used some new technology to create a soft, flexible edge on the packet for patient comfort. These are not ordinary saliva controllers; they actually trap the saliva inside the packet. A poly stiffener insert provides just the right amount of rigidity to the packet for cheek retraction. The NeoDry’s opposite side is a white polypropylene film, which acts as a moisture and cutting barrier while it reflects light to brighten the oral cavity. How can one little packet do so much?! The medical-grade netting clings to the buccal mucosa, but one caution - when you are ready to remove the NeoDry, spray the buccal side of the packet with water. If you skip this step, you could take some tissue with the packet. Do you have problems controlling saliva while taking posterior impressions? NeoDrys can help you keep a dry field. Sealants have never been easier with NeoDrys. Keep the field dry during cementation procedures with NeoDrys. I am sure you can come up with lots of ways that these handy saliva controllers will save you time and make procedures faster and easier. Cling2™ Resin Optimized Temporary Cement by Clinician’s Choice - This is a non-eugenol, auto-mix temporary cement with an innovative polycarboxylate resin in a paste-paste format. No mess, no mixing pads, no gun with Cling2, just attach a small tip and you are ready to directly apply the material to crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays. Cling2 sets quickly (60 to 90 seconds) and the excess is easy to remove around the margins. You will get a good marginal seal to help minimize postop sensitivity. The addition of polycarboxylate optimizes adhesion, soothes the tooth, and provides an excellent seal, yet the temporary is easy to remove from the tooth. Any excess material left on the tooth preparation will easily peel off. Cling2 makes cementing temporaries a joy - faster, easier, and better!
