About Us

Dental Economics is the world's leading print and digital practice management journal for the dental profession.

The journal was first published in 1910 under the name Oral Hygiene, then renamed as Dental Economics for its focus on the business of dentistry in 1967. This rich history of helping dentists treat their patients more effectively and helping dental practice owners grow their businesses has made Dental Economics into one of the dental industry's most-read dental publications.

Today, the monthly print publication has a circulation of more than 100,000 subscribers, while dentaleconomics.com reaches more than 170,000 readers each month. Since 2016, Dental Economics has also hosted DE's Principles of Practice Management, an annual dental conference offering continuing education credits. Dental Economics is also active on social media, with pages on both Facebook and Twitter and private Facebook groups.

Dentists in every stage of their careers—from dental students, to new dentists, to seasoned clinicians—will find something of interest upon subscribing to the magazine. Topics covered include restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental products and dental equipment, multipractice ownership, dental marketing, human resources, social media, financial planning, investments, accounting, dental practice transitions, dental membership plans, dental practice profitability, dental coding, dental hygiene department metrics, case acceptance, digital dentistry (3-D printing, CAD/CAM, etc.), sleep dentistry, implantology, the oral-systemic connection, oral pathology, dental office design, ergonomics and occupational health, dental trade shows, and more. Each issue of Dental Economics also includes a self-instructional ADA CERP and AGD-recognized continuing education course.

Led by Chief Editor Pamela Maragliano-Muniz, DDS, Dental Economics is also guided by an editorial advisory board made up of the following dental experts: Tarun Agarwal, DDS; Joshua Austin, DDS; Laura Barres, DDS; Ryan Dulde, DDS; Erin Elliott, DDS; Scott Froum, DDS; Howard S.
