Tulsa Dental Products introduces a new series of revolutionary nickel-titanium shaping files that automatically create predefined, tapered shapes in root canals. The Files of Greater Taper (GT) Hand File Series features four, variably-tapered fines having from three to six times the taper of standard ISO files. One advantage of the GT files over standard instruments is their wider taper design: In many cases, a single GT file can be used to shape the entire canal. This dramatically reduces the number of instruments and procedural steps needed to prepare a canal, allowing dentists and endodontists to perform procedures in much less time. Each taper size of the GT Hand File Series is designed to work in different root forms: The .12 taper file is designed for large canals, especially if the canal has a large terminal diameter, while the .06 taper file is best for extremely thin and/or curved roots.
