An international manufacturer and distributor of dental implants recently announced the addition of a new product to its growing, comprehensive line. Bio-Lok International, Inc. has designed and begun producing a new Micro-Lok Screw Implant (patented) as part of its Micro-Lok Implant System product line.

This newly designed screw, which features a patented "reverse buttress" thread design, has been distributed internationally by the company, but has had limited availability in the United States. The implant has a slight taper to ease the insertion by the clinician, offering enhanced support at the axis. A hole at the screw`s tip allows bone chips to enter and grow around the implant during the healing process, serving as an anchor, holding the implant in place.
