The new KaVo 649B is the first handpiece to feature an advanced four-hole, fan-shaped spray. This design ensures optimum cooling of the bur and the operating field without endangering the nerve due to heat buildup. The drive air pressure of this handpiece is increased to 2.8 bar (40 psi) to allow greater power for heavy bulk removal, as well as crown and bridge work, allowing the most concentric preparations. Like all KaVo handpieces, the 649B can be sterilized up to 135°C (275°F) in the autoclave.
