Dr Bornstein`s Viewpoint article, "Diary of a Claims Adjuster," in the November issue, was excellent. Having served in a somewhat similar capacity, I can assure you that he is right on the money!

The comments in Letters from Readers by Dr. Searby were the best comments on dental advertising I have seen. His best comment was, "Old patients don`t bring in many new patients. New patients bring in new patients."

Many of us were taught in dental school that advertising was wrong, that "only bad dentists advertise." At least now we`ve learned that there is bad advertising done by good and bad dentists. There also is good advertising done by good and bad dentists. Don`t fault advertising; fault the dentist. Don`t blame the cow for soggy cornflakes!
