ProTec CEM, a new, self-curing, fluoride-releasing, hybrid ionomer cement, is available from Ivoclar Vivadent. ProTec CEM combines the easy handling, easy excess removal, and fluoride release of conventional cements with the solubility and low expansion characteristics of composite cements. The result offers greater esthetic options for conventional cementation (of retentive preparations) in the dentist`s daily practice, including porcelain fused-to-metal, posts, and retentively prepared Targis

The ProTec CEM is available in two shades: transparent and yellow/universal. For metal-based resto-rations, dentists may choose the yellow/universal shade.
