American Dental Supply, Inc. introduces CDK caries-disclosing dye solution to its line of office products.

When excavating deep carious lesions or when employing air microabrasion, remaining caries are sometimes difficult to detect. CDK is essential in these cases to disclose the remaining caries and to avoid removal of sound dentin. CDK is applied to the prepared tooth surface and then rinsed away with water after several seconds. The dye is an intense purplish-pink and selectively stains bacteria-infected dentin while leaving healthy dentin unstained. The propylene-glycol carrier is nonrunny and nondrying when applied to tooth surfaces in the mouth.

To further aid visibility, CDK-stained tissue exhibits a strong orange fluorescence under long-wave ultraviolet illumination. This permits the doctor to clean out residual decay completely and with confidence. CDK is packaged in handy, cost-effective, plastic-dropper bottles. Larger refill sizes are available on request.

CDK is manufactured by American Dental Supply, Inc. and can be ordered from your dealer. MSDSs are available.
