Brasseler USA introduces a new kit, designed by Dr. Martin H. Zase, as an alternative to air abrasion for pit-and-fissure restoration.
After disclosing suspicious fissures using a caries-detecting solution, the clinician opens the stained fissure and removes caries with the 8392-016 diamond bur. The kit also contains a shorter version of this bur for patients with limited opening.
The clinician then will etch, bond, and fill with the flowable composite of choice. After curing, minor occlusal adjustments may be made using the thin 30 fluted carbide OS2UF, or the larger 12 fluted carbide football finishing bur (7404).
The Mini-Prep kit offers clinicians an alternative to air-abrasion to explore and prepare incipient decay in deep fissures.
The kit is available only through Brasseler Direct. To place an order, call (800) 841-4522.
