Available to health-care professionals on CD-ROM, "DiagnosticBytes" from Wildfire Simulations, Inc. is the only interactive patient simulation of its kind in dentistry. For the first time, clinicians can practice dentistry on a "virtual" patient at a remote workstation.

Adam Jaffey arrives at the cyber dental office with several complaints and some very demanding dental conditions. Interactive patient appointments allow the dentist to question Adam and evaluate his condition, access diagnostic tools, make a diagnosis, establish a treatment-plan and orchestrate treatment. As in real life, emergencies arise and the user is challenged on his ability to make critical decisions and initiate the appropriate actions. Essential tools such as a complete patient health history, high-quality diagnostic aids, charting components and an electronic progress folder are all provided. Patient forms, specialty consultations, and multiple laboratory tests also are features of the simulation.
