Medigas 3010 is a versatile instrument that can be used for risk assessment, area monitoring, personal monitoring, and leak detection. The NIOSH exposure limits are 25 ppm over an eight-hour period. Workers are exposed to N2O while administering the anesthetic gas to patients. Several human studies have shown that occupational exposure to N2O is a health hazard and may cause reduced fertility, spontaneous abortions, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and neurologic, renal, and liver disease, as well as documented decreases in mental performance, audiovisual ability, and manual dexterity.
