They include: cleaning the tooth surface prior to acid-etching procedures such as: sealant placement, orthodontic-bracket bonding and composite-restoration placement; cleaning the tooth surface prior to restoration cementation; polishing amalgam or composite restorations; prophylaxis of heavily stained teeth.
