The new blue version has a much more reliable button and dispensing system as well as a tighter cannula attachment for scrubbing the Adhese Universal into the tooth. The previous advantages of the VivaPen delivery system still exist—namely, more applications! The hermetically sealed VivaPen yields more applications of adhesive than bottle systems do, due to evaporation. Evaporation is such a drain for our adhesives that by using a VivaPen, we almost triple the number of applications per milliliter! That is a significant increase and absolutely will impact the bottom line. We also still have the advantage of using fresh bonding agent always, as the VivaPen has it with the tap of a button.
The VivaPen gets a lot of the excitement, but the adhesive inside the VivaPen is important too. Adhese Universal is a great bonding agent that can be used for both direct and indirect restorations. It has consistently high bond strength in all etch methods, all while providing a great antisensitivity effect. In addition, it has an ultrathin film thickness that prevents white lines, marginal gaps, and staining.
The combination of the great adhesive in the great delivery system really makes for a great product. As an integral part of the PowerCure system, it makes for a fast and efficient choice that is also cost-effective. When used with the BluePhase PowerCure curing light, curing time is only three seconds in the 3S mode!

The VivaPen is one of my favorite delivery systems in all of dentistry. It offers distinct advantages over traditional bottle systems and houses a great adhesive system, Adhese Universal, inside. The new and improved Adhese Universal VivaPen got better!
