I have it—you want it! iLumi Super Fiber Post by iLumi Sciences

Dec. 1, 2020
Dr. Glazer reviews the iLumi Super Fiber Post—a product that does what others only promise: delivers photocuring light all the way to the apex. If you're in the market for a fiber post system, read on to find out why iLumi gets his recommendation.

Some fiber posts promise to transmit light all the way to the end of the post, but they fail to deliver. Conversely, the new iLumi Super Fiber Post does, in fact, transmit and deliver photocuring light all the way to the apex better than any other product I’ve tried.

iLumi’s success is the result of high fiber density, which allows for greater light transmission. Furthermore, iLumi Super Fiber Posts are more radiopaque than most, making them easy to read on radiographs. The posts feature color-coded rings that match the standard endodontic color codes for file size (they are available in four sizes), and the rings can easily slide up or down the post to make measuring easy during the fitting process. These posts will flex like dentin, and have a low modulus of elasticity like dentin, so the risk of root fracturing is minimal. Although “whitish” in appearance, I haven’t found this to be a deterrent to esthetic restorations. These are strong fiber posts, greater than 1,000 MPa, which will support any core material and restorative procedure. Next time you are shopping for a fiber post system, iLumi Super Fiber Posts deserve your serious consideration.
