DE's Business Lab: Passing the DE editor baton

Aug. 5, 2021
Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz is the new editor of Dental Economics. She replaces Dr. Chris Salierno, who is moving to a new position with Tend.

In this video chat, Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz bids farewell to Dr. Chris Salierno as chief editor of Dental Economics, and he wishes her well as she picks up the torch.

After seven years as DE editor, Dr. Salierno was offered the chief dental officer position with Tend, a small dental service organization with seven practices in New York that's currently expanding to Washington, DC and Boston. The company was looking for someone to make sure dentists and patients are being treated ethically and properly. Dr. Salierno acknowledged that the chance to build up the business was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. Although he says it was not an easy decision, he’s looking forward to the challenges of building something from scratch.

Dr. Salierno shares some of his fondest memories as chief editor of DE and provides advice to Dr. Pam. He'll continue to associate with DE by serving on the Advisory Board and contributing content to DE and DentistryIQ. He will also be on hand to moderate the upcoming Principles of Practice Management conference Oct 14-15 in Scottsdale.

Dr. Salierno said he’s passing the magazine to a highly qualified dentist, and Dr. Pam wished him luck in his new position. "You will be missed," she acknowledged. Dr. Pam previously served as chief editor of DentistryIQ, a position that was recently accepted by Dr. David Rice.
