Water pump eliminates patient exposure to contaminants

April 1, 1996
The new Micro SWP Sterile Water Pump eliminates patient exposure to water-line pathogens and municipal-water contaminants by supplying sterile water to the procedure site. The SWP connector attaches between the handpiece and the existing handpiece-tubing coupler, bypassing the regular water supply as it delivers sterile water to the handpiece. To protect against patient cross-contamination, the SWP utilizes an external, nonretractable peristaltic pump.
