Steri-Oss introduces the TorqTite abutment screw, a surface-enhanced, titanium-alloy abutment screw, designed to help reduce the incidence of screw-loosening.
Threaded connections, subjected to high-amplitude cyclic loading, should demonstrate a preload in the range of 75 percent of the yield strength of the screw. The enhanced surface of the TorqTite abutment screw reduces the screw`s coefficient of friction, resulting in an increase of the preload from 34 percent to 75 percent of the yield strength of the screw, when tightening to 35 Ncm.
TorqTite screws soon will be packaged with REPLACE Tapered Implant System abutments. TorqTite Hexed Abutment Screws (Cat. #2699) are available now, separately, for use with Steri-Oss HL and REPLACE Tapered Implant System abutments.
