When Dr. Jeffrey Fox of Total Dental Care of Suffolk, N.Y., learned about panoramic digital radiography, he liked the benefits of the new technology for X-raying patients` teeth. As of April, Total Dental Care was only the sixth dental office in the U.S. to have a Siemens panoramic, digital-radiography machine installed.
With panoramic digital radiography, there is 70 percent less radiation than standard panoramic techniques. X-rays of a patient`s teeth are viewed on a computer monitor, and film or chemicals are eliminated completely from the process.
Dr. Jeffrey Fox and Dr. Neil Pyser, founders of Total Dental Care of Suffolk, are graduates of State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Total Dental Care dentists are interested in promoting public education about the newest techniques in dentistry, such as interceptive orthodontics, drill-free dentistry, one-visit root canals, and panoramic digital radiography.
