Desirée Walker, DDS, attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and received her bachelor of science in nutrition. Following three years of clinical nutrition research, she attended UNC School of Dentistry and obtained her dental degree in 2008. She is a practicing general dentist and owner of her start-up, ground-up construction practice, Lumber River Dental. Outside of dentistry, she is an accomplished athlete, gymnast, acrobat, and two-time competitor on NBC's American Ninja Warrior. She has presented nationally and internally, and she is passionate about health and wellness and how to integrate those into the dental workday.
