National Data Corporation has added new clinical and administrative enhancements to the NDC Dental System.

The system enhancements give dentists the ability to "freeze" or stop and record intraoral-video images by using simple voice commands. Dentists can show these images to patients in real time, without interrupting the examination.

The NDC Dental System uses the "point and click" Microsoft Windows™ operating system. It can perform a variety of tasks simultaneously, including generating treatment reminders, recall lists, appointment-scheduling and mail merge lists. It accesses clinical records, including scanned film X-rays and intraoral-camera images; tracks patient accounts, transactions, prescriptions, payment schedules, provides credit-card authorization and electronic filing of insurance claims.

In addition, the system generates management, accounting and medical reports in minutes, integrates word-processing programs for numerous functions, including customized letter-writing; and prints color-treatment proposals and walk-out statements.
