The governor`s proposal would guarantee dental services to children only through age 12 and allow the states to decide how much and what kind of services. "The past three decades have clearly shown that states, when faced with budgetary constraints, have curtailed or eliminated Medicaid adult-dental care, and with increasing frequency, have attempted to provide only the most minimal of children`s dental care." The association urged the governors to make sure there`s a safety net for dental coverage and a guarantee of adequate care for children.
