Same-day dentistry in today’s modern practice: It’s anything but run-of-the-mill

June 28, 2022
The decision to introduce same-day dentistry into today’s digital practice has fundamentally changed.

Dr. John Flucke, “The Technology Evangelist,” shares his perspective on how the decision to introduce same-day dentistry into today’s digital practice has fundamentally changed. In the early days of CAD/CAM, dentists were forced to buy expensive closed systems from a single vendor, and the key question was “is the restoration quality good enough”? Today’s technology has evolved so that practices now have options for flexible “open architecture” chairside milling systems that are not only affordable but also capable of producing restorations that approach lab quality.

Whether you’re considering same-day dentistry in your practice for the first time, or looking for better ROI from your current program, Dr. Flucke advocates proceeding from a very different set of questions. With fully digital workflow in mind, the right questions for dentists to start with are “How does this work into my treatment flow?” and “How can I be sure this is the right choice for my office?” Far from a purely theoretical discussion, Dr. Flucke will talk about recent technology changes in his own office, and the steps he’s taken to successfully integrate this new technology into his busy three doctor practice. A notorious planner, Dr. Flucke will share his same-day dentistry journey, articulate his thoughts and decisions from throughout the process, and discuss the potential he sees to transform his assistants into a team of in-house digital lab techs.
