Lisa J. Heaton, PhD, the science writer for CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, collaborates with internal and external partners to produce peer-reviewed publications and materials, addressing issues related to the expansion of access to oral health care for historically underserved populations, intersection of oral and overall health, and integration of dental and medical health care. She has 20 years of clinical and research experience focused on dental anxiety/phobia and oral health disparities. A member of the International Association for Dental Research (American Division), she received her master’s and PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Kentucky.
