The Institute for Oral Health will host its fourth annual national conference Oct. 15-16, 2009, at the Hotel Valencia in San Jose, Calif.

The conference, entitled "Defining Quality in Oral Health Care," will bring together experts in oral health care from academia, private and public health disciplines. The conference will feature presentations and discussions on how the dental profession defines and determines quality in oral health care.

Topics include use of evidence-based dentistry, development of metrics and best practices, and quality improvement systems already in practice in Minnesota and the Veterans Administration.

Health-care providers, policy makers, academics, dental researchers, dental carriers, employers, and those in the field of public health are invited to attend.

The Institute for Oral Health is a recognized ADA CERP provider; nine CE credits will be available. The National Association of Dental Plans supports the IOH conference.

The cost to attend is $495 per person. Hotel rooms are available at a special conference rate. Registration closes Oct. 12.
