GC America Inc. has announced the appointment of David C. Allen as the company's president and chief operating officer, effective Aug. 18.

Most recently Allen was corporate director, Mergers and Acquisitions for Carestream Health. Prior to this, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the Eastman Kodak Company's dental business for 13 year. This included serving as general manager of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, and general manager of the United States and Canada region.

Allen succeeds Tadahiko Kumaki, who will remain Director of GC America when he returns to Japan in October.

Allen holds an MBA from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester and a BA from Syracuse University.
