A Florida dentist has created a streamlined web-based referral system that puts specialists in more control of the process. PatientsCount.com, a simple and HIPAA-compliant click-and-point internet referral system, is designed to provide specialists with a fast and more reliable referral process than the traditional paper-based system.

Developed by Dr. Michael Zerivitz, D.D.S., of Deltona, Florida, spurred by a Kelton research study showed almost half of referrals were lost or discarded by patients, the site allows specialists to track referrals in real time and personally follow-up with patients. Referring dentists log on to the secured website and after a few clicks, patient is instantly transmitted — including X-rays — to the chosen specialist.
