K-Stones: An abrasive for use on various materials

April 14, 2008

ROCK HILL, South Carolina--The new K-Stones from KOMET USA are a multi-talented abrasive for laboratory technicians to use because they work on a variety of dental materials.

K-Stones are synthetically bonded and interspersed with diamond grit. They are designed to work on various applications ranging from hard ceramics materials including Zirconia, all dental metal alloys and composites.

K-Stones are available in three shapes: wheel (9001.104.140), to eliminate cast sprues; cylinder (9005.104.060), to rework a sublingual bar and vestibular surfaces; and knife edge (9006.104.220), to rework the marginal ridge.

When compared to other stones, K-Stones leave no black marks on ceramics, especially Zirconia. Despite their performance, K-Stones achieve a smooth surface. This saves the operator time during retouching and polishing. K-Stones generate less heat and are self-sharpening, and their long service life guarantees the operator will have optimal shape stability.
