Temple University School of Dentistry takes part in national program

February 29, 2008

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania--At the Temple University School of Dentistry, 100 children were treated by dental practitioners Feb. 1 as part of the American Dental Association's Give Kids A Smile Day.

GKAS is a national program that provides dental services to more than 500,000 underserved children in 2,000 communities nationwide. At the event, dentists and hygienists volunteered their services, which included oral screening, basic treatment, and education.

Henry Schein Dental, the U.S. division of Henry Schein, again served as the exclusive national distributor of professional products for Give Kids A Smile. The products and services contributed by Henry Schein and its 50 supplier partners-- along with Colgate-Palmolive and DEXIS--two other primary sponsors of Give Kids A Smile, enabled dentists and dental team members to provide free oral health care to children from low-income families.
