Self-etch bonding system simplifies restorative procedures

October 11, 2007

ARMONK, New York--Heraeus Kulzer, Inc., a leader in dental esthetics, has announced the release of its new seventh generation Self Etch.

The self etch is an all-in-one bonding agent that etches, primes, bonds, and desensitizes with just one application.

The new, improved product replaces the current iBOND and requires no mixing, eliminating the need for separate steps in the bonding process. iBOND Self Etch also offers less technique sensitivity with high bond strength and proven marginal efficacy due to easy evaporation, according to results from 15 scientific outcome studies conducted by the company.

"The results from the studies are noteworthy because they suggest a faster, easier and more convenient application with minimal post-operative sensitivity," explains Christopher Holden, president of Heraeus Kulzer.

iBOND Self Etch is indicated for:

* Bonding of direct composite restorations

* Bonding of indirect restorations in combination with light-curing luting cements

* Sealing of hypersensitive areas of teeth

"The new iBOND Self Etch is easier and faster and reliable," said Dr. Howard Glazer, past president of the Academy of General Dentistry. "This easy-to-use product requires no refrigeration after opening and the new dispensing bottle provides a uniform droplet each and every time resulting in less waste," he adds.
