According to the Dental Trade Alliance, a few manufacturers have recently received purchase orders from dental dealers that were unauthorized and not actually generated by the dealer.

In each case, the order was received on dealer letterhead with instructions to ship to the greater Dallas, Texas, area. It appears that someone with inside knowledge of the dental business is copying the dealer letterhead and requesting dental products and equipment to be shipped to Dallas or suburban Dallas locations.

The DTA asks that all purchase orders carefully be checked and to call any dental dealer if there are concerns about a particular order. The Dallas police have been alerted and are investigating this matter.
