Kodak's electronic practice management services for dental professionals have been accredited by the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a nationally recognized, independent authority that evaluates e-services against healthcare industry standards for privacy, security, data integrity and technical performance.

The achievement makes Kodak the only provider of dental practice management software to receive EHNAC accreditation. About 20 organizations serving other healthcare industry segments are presently accredited.

"Today Kodak joins a select group of electronic services clearinghouses," said Lee Barrett, executive director, EHNAC. "Kodak has demonstrated its ability to deliver services consistent with the only standards in the industry that measure the overall business practices of a clearinghouse."

"It demonstrates that we meet independent standards for speed, accuracy and data integrity, and comply with HIPAA standards for patient privacy, system security and administrative simplification."

Kodak's e-services for dental professionals enable practices to streamline administrative functions, help improve patient care and facilitate compliance with patient privacy regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The services include electronic claim processing, electronic credit card processing, electronic insurance eligibility, electronic statement delivery and secure email.

Completing the certification process required Kodak to provide extensive documentation of its e-services operations. EHNAC also performed an on-site evaluation of Kodak's e-services clearinghouse.
