Breakthrough technology

March 1, 2001

Schick Technologies, Inc. has developed "breakthrough technology" with the advent of its new CMOS sensors. Designed exclusively for use with the Schick Computed Dental Radiography (CDR™) system, the new Schick Active Pixel Sensor (APS) is said to be the first dental X-ray sensor to utilize advanced CMOS technology, providing a myriad of benefits over conventional CCD sensors, including 25 percent higher resolution and a more consistent X-ray image.

Schick APS sensors incorporate state-of-the-art, 32-bit PCI architecture, enabling high-speed data transfer with fewer wire connections for optimum reliability.

Schick APS sensors are more durable than conventional CCD sensors, and they maintain a higher compatibility tolerance for use with older X-ray sources.
